Our Mission Statement
The Kerber's Farm School is a A 501-(c)(3) non-profit corporation who's mission is to educate students about farming, sustainability, and healthy eating habits with hands-on experience both in the farm and kitchen. The school also aims to address food insecurity in marginalized communities and educate about the carbon footprint of their food choices.
The School honors Suffolk County’s rich farming history by returning the surrounding farmland to its original use which was farming potatoes, corn, cauliflower, and strawberries. Additional vegetable types, native plants, and bee hives, and livestock are also being installed. The land continues to be a haven for wildlife including honey bees, butterflies, American Goldfinch, Eastern Cottontail Rabbits, chipmunks and White-tailed Deer.
All income from classes, admission fees, and product sales will be returned to the school land
management and class programming. Surplus produce will be donated to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.
