From Chick to Chicken
Children step into the world of poultry care as they get up close and personal with Kerber’s Farm’s newest baby chicks. Young farmers will learn how to gently handle chicks, discover what they eat, and explore the essentials they need to thrive—warmth, food, and fresh water.
After spending time with the little ones, the class heads into Kerber’s Farm chicken coop to collect eggs and learn about the daily care of adult chickens. Children will see firsthand how hens live, what keeps them healthy, and why responsible animal care matters.
To wrap up the experience, everyone will help make farm‑fresh scrambled eggs using the eggs collected from the coop—then enjoy a warm, delicious sample together.
